Kendal in Bloom

Back in March we caught up with the Mayor of Kendal Richard Sutton and Kendal Town Council's Projects Officer Becca Hewitson at Kirkland in Kendal where the "Kirkland Volunteers" were hard at work, planting and tidying up the area.

Each year, thousands of blooms are carefully arranged in planters, hanging baskets and displays, transforming Kendal into a floral showcase throughout the summer and winter months.

Kendal Town Council are proud to deliver the annual planting in line with one of the key priorities within the council plan – to develop and enhance the public realm.

It is more than just decoration – it’s a celebration of community pride. They are grateful to those partners and volunteers who help them deliver the planting and who contribute to ‘Kendal in Bloom’ through displays of their own.

Kirkland in Bloom

As part of their preparations for future competitions, we’re working on a project in the Kirkland area centred around Abbot Hall Park.

Establishing a new group of volunteers and working with partners, they’re hoping to enhance the space through floral displays and landscapes.
