Protecting our local biodiversity starts right here in Kendal!
Did you know that while Himalayan Balsam looks pretty with its pink flowers, it’s actually an invasive non-native species? It quickly takes over our riverbanks, pushes out native wildflowers, and reduces the biodiversity our local wildlife relies on.
Thanks to dedicated volunteers working with The Kent Catchment Himalayan Balsam Group, a massive dent has already been made in the Kent catchment, but the fight isn’t over! we look forward to more help from The Clean the river kent campaign on the 6th of july too!
