Location: Knott Lane, Resibeck
Join us on this moderate 4-mile walk from Knott Lane to Great Asby Scar National Nature Reserve on tracks and across some pathless, uneven terrain. It will include the limestone pavements of Great Asby Scar, the quarries at Knott, and Gamelands Stone Circle, giving an insight into the geology, history and natural history of the area.
This wilk will be led by David Evans.
Tickets are free to members of Friends of the Lake District (join here if you are not already a member) or £5 for non-members.
What to wear and what to bring
Check the weather forecast. Waterproofs if it looks like rain. Sun hat and sunscreen if it looks like sun. Sturdy footwear (walking boots or similar). The area is exposed so can be cold; come prepared and bring some warm layers. Please also bring water and any snacks you wish.
Dogs are permitted but must be kept under control and on a lead at all times.

About these walks
This is one of a series of walks revealing the landscape and heritage of the Westmorland Dales, in the northwest corner of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The area was the focus of a landscape partnership scheme which ran from 2019 to 2024, grant funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and led by Friends of the Lake District.
